This class meets Fridays from 10 am - 1 p.m. for 6 weeks.
This painting class will introduce basic skills in the handling of oil or acrylic paint. Pastels are also welcome. We will explore various approaches to painting including alla prima, impasto, wet-into-wet, and glazing. More advanced students will broaden their technical knowledge as well as develop their own content and voice. Focus early in the class will be on observation and interpretation of still life. Ann will show how to paint from sketches and photos as students are interested. All painterly media are welcome, including soft pastel, oil, acrylic, gouache, and watercolor.
