Meet the Media Art Party: Collage like Matisse.

Last winter, I created a fun event for the Palo Alto Art Center.  I was asked to host an art party for the Palo Alto Rotary Club.  I brought in some Matisse prints, talked a bit about his history and decoupage techniques, and got people started with a few precut shapes and some glue.  It was amazing what the attendees figured out to do with a simple starting point.  It turns out that solid color collage is a great way to talk about composition, and to watch people figure out composition on their own.
